An Imprint of The O+Positive Way

Books that name what has gone unnamed.
Words that restore what was quietly taken.
Stories that return people to themselves.

Our Mission

Publishing is an act of recognition.

O+Positive Publishing was founded on a simple but radical belief: that the experiences most people carry in silence are the ones that most deserve a page, a cover, and a place in the world. That healing begins not just in the therapist’s office or on the meditation cushion — but the moment a person opens a book and reads a sentence that says, for the first time: I see you. You are not alone. What you carried had weight.

We publish works that illuminate the hidden cost of invisible service — in families, in institutions, in relationships, and in the self. Our authors write from lived experience. They do not write from a safe distance. They write from the inside of the wound, and from the other side of it.

As an imprint of The O+Positive Way, our publishing is rooted in the same conviction that guides all of our work: that conscious healing, authentic identity, and sacred connection are not luxuries — they are the foundation of a life fully lived.

We do not publish books that inform.

We publish books that transform.

What We Stand For

Three Publishing Pillars

I. Name the Unnamed

The most powerful thing a book can do is give language to an experience that has existed without words. Our titles are chosen because they speak to what has been lived but never named — the invisible service, the unchosen duty, the quiet grief, the strength that cost more than anyone acknowledged.

II. Honor the Wound & the Gift

We do not publish books that flatten human experience into easy triumph. Our authors hold complexity — they honor both the cost and the gift of what they survived. Healing is not the erasure of what happened. It is the integration of it. Our books are built on that distinction

III. Return People to Themselves

Every book we publish carries a single underlying purpose: to help the reader find their way back to their own authentic truth. Whether through memoir, self-help, somatic healing, or spiritual inquiry, the destination is always the same — sovereign, whole, and free to choose.

What We Publish

Our titles occupy the intersection of lived experience, psychological depth, and spiritual inquiry. We are not a general trade publisher. We publish with intention, within a focused body of work, for a reader who is ready to go beneath the surface.

Trauma-Informed Healing & Recovery

Books that address the psychological and somatic impact of invisible wounds — childhood over-responsibility, parentification, displacement, institutional pressure, and the long reach of family systems. Written not to diagnose but to witness, validate, and guide.

Identity Reclamation & Women’s Narratives

Works that give voice to the experiences of women who were shaped by systems — military institutions, family hierarchies, gender expectations — and who are now in the process of reclaiming agency, voice, and authentic selfhood on their own terms.

Conscious Relationships & Sacred Union

Books that explore love, partnership, and connection from a spiritually grounded, psychologically honest perspective. Titles that speak to later-in-life love, soulmate recognition, divine counterpart union, and the journey toward a relationship paradigm built on wholeness rather than wounding.

Spiritual Memoir & The Awakening Path

Narrative works that document the arc of personal spiritual awakening — the dark night of the soul, the return to self, the discovery of purpose and sacred partnership. Written with honesty, depth, and the courage to share the full journey, not only its resolution.

Our Authors

The Voices We Carry

O+Positive Publishing was born from the creative courage of its founders. Their work — and the community it is building — is the living proof of what this imprint exists to do.

Author & Co-Founder

Sarina Arcari

Firstborn daughter of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officer. Transformational coach, Reiki Master, Sonic Anatomy Guide, and award-winning corporate executive. Sarina writes from the intersection of lived military experience, nervous system healing, and the reclamation of authentic identity. Her work gives voice to the experiences of firstborn daughters and women who were required to grow up before they were ready.

Her debut solo title, Conscripted by Birth: The Firstborn Military Daughter’s Guide to Healing Duty, Displacement, and Invisible Service, is the first book written specifically for firstborn daughters raised in military families — a work that names invisible service, honors its cost, and charts a path toward sovereignty and wholeness.

Author & Co-Founder

Barry McFarlane Bio

Born in New York City to parents of Jamaican descent. Financial executive, spiritual seeker, and co-founder of The O+Positive Way. Barry’s writing emerges from a path that moved through professional achievement, personal loss, a defining dark night of the soul, and a profound spiritual rebirth. He writes for men and women who know they are meant for more — and are finally ready to walk toward it.

His forthcoming title explores the terrain of the awakening path — the moment a life built on the right credentials and the wrong foundation becomes impossible to sustain, and what it takes to rebuild from the inside out.

Forthcoming — The Signature Work

The Book They Were Always Meant to Write Together

Sarina and Barry’s story — how two people, half a world apart, healing independently, were drawn to each other across distance and dimension — will form the foundation of O+Positive Publishing’s signature title. A book about later-in-life love, divine counterpart recognition, and what becomes possible when two whole people choose each other freely. It will be the cornerstone of The O+Positive Way’s growing community of conscious couples.

Our Readers

Who Our Books Are For

Our titles are written for a specific kind of reader — one who has done enough living to know that the surface explanation is never the whole story, and enough growing to be ready for the deeper one.

Women reclaiming themselves

Who were praised for their strength, their competence, their adaptability — and are only now beginning to understand what it cost.

Military community members

Daughters, spouses, service members, and veterans navigating the long aftermath of institutional life and the identity questions it leaves behind.

Seekers on the awakening path

Who have moved through the dark night of the soul and are ready to understand what it was for — and what it is opening them toward.

Later-in-life lovers

Who found, or are seeking, a sacred partnership built on wholeness — and who believe that the most profound love stories are often the ones that arrive after everything else has been learned.

Healers & practitioners

Therapists, coaches, somatic practitioners, and spiritual guides who work with women navigating trauma, identity, and the transition from survival to sovereignty.

Anyone who recognizes themselves

Firstborn daughters, over-functioners, invisible helpers, compulsive caretakers — in any family, in any context. If you found this page, there is likely a reason.

“We publish books the way we believe love should be offered — with full presence, unflinching honesty, and the conviction that being truly witnessed is the beginning of everything.”

Work With Us

Authors & Submissions

O+Positive Publishing is a curated imprint. We publish a small number of titles each year, chosen with great care. We are not currently open to unsolicited general submissions.

If you are a woman who has survived invisible service — in a military family, in a high-demand caregiving role, in an institution that relied on your silence — and you believe your story belongs in print, we want to hear from you.

If your work addresses conscious relationship, sacred union, later-in-life love, or the spiritual dimensions of healing and partnership, we welcome a conversation.

We respond to every inquiry personally. We do not accept queries that have not read and understood our mission.
